Primeware has been around for some time, and millions of people use it to watch streaming movies online. While it doesn’t store movies on its servers and uses associations with third parties to provide streaming movies, anti-piracy groups still see it as an illegal streaming website. Primewire is difficult to access from many locations.
Over the years, Primewire had to change its domain extension to avoid restrictions and exceptions. It still works today, but many people have complained about it because of advertisements and even malware threats. The truth is there is no completely trustworthy free movie website. So you have to be very careful and make sure that your antivirus is up to date.
Primewire has access to a large number of movies, which is why it is so popular. Using a website is easy as well as helpful. However, other websites provide access to free streaming movies in a similar way.
So I started looking for some great alternatives to Primewire. There are tons of free streaming websites out there so I had to look for the best one. I removed whatever was malware or other threats in my tests. This does not mean that the websites listed here are not. It didn’t happen when I tested it.
OK so here are my top 10 Primewire alternatives. Always remember that streaming movies for free is illegal so you do this at your own risk.
1. Putlocker
Even though Putlocker has changed domains many times, it remains a very popular and good alternative to Primewire. You probably have the largest movie database, and it’s growing every day. If you’re interested, you can also find the Putlocker TV show. I find it easy for new and old movies on Putlocker.
One of the best ideas about Putlocker for me is the user interface. It’s really easy to manage and as you scroll through the movies you get additional details about it which I found useful when I wasn’t looking for a particular movie. You can usually also download movies in HD, which is a great feature.
Putlocker has tons of popups and ads, so I recommend that you install a good ad blocker. Some people have reported viral issues with Putlocker as well, but I haven’t had this before.
2. Yify
You’ll find that Yify has a ton of movies available, including a number of new releases, making it a great alternative to Primewire. However, there is a big difference between Yify and Primewire. With Yify, you need to download the movie you want to watch because it doesn’t have a streaming feature.
I find that Yify makes it easy to find the movie you want to download. I can use different parameters in my searches including the start year and genre which makes things quicker. Many people like to download movies, and as a result, Yify has become very popular.
I downloaded a few movies from Yify and the place was really good. I don’t know how long Yify will last because the owner is facing copyright violation. My opinion is to enjoy it while you can.
3. VMovee
You may not have heard of VMovve, but that doesn’t mean VMovve isn’t a viable alternative to Primewire. I like the interface of VMovee and it’s very easy to use. Granted, there aren’t as many movies out there like Primewire and Putlocker, but they are growing and becoming popular.
I found the VMovee movie streaming website well-organized and found what I was looking for painless and fast. The categories are as expected, including the hottest new movies and their latest additions. All movies on VMovee are HD and you can even find movies from Bollywood.
Like other streaming websites, VMovee does not store movies on its servers. It contains links to third parties providing movies to avoid copyright. Although I haven’t encountered any viral issues yet, I assume that you paid attention when using this website.
4. Niter
Niter has quickly become one of the most popular movie streaming websites and made my list of Primewire alternatives. Many people believe this is a great alternative to 123 movies, which I will cover later. After starting with Niter, I found that finding movies was great. You can use any parameter to speed up the work.
Niter provides you with links to movies that are on other websites like most other sites. It’s still illegal. Anyway, the UI is great and I think they copied it from Netflix. Often times, when you search, you get links to websites that Google can’t find.
The fact that most of the links don’t appear on Google annoys me as I have a vision about malware threats. But I have no problem with my test. Niter is growing and I think it’s a great alternative to Primewire.
5. 123 Movies
OK, I mentioned 123 movies in my review of Niter. So let’s discuss about this movie streaming website as a great alternative to Primewire. There is no doubt that 123 Movies is a very popular website. Recent estimates indicate that more than 90 million people visit it every month. However, this popularity has not gone unnoticed by anti-piracy groups.
Like most Primewire alternatives, 123 Movies does not host movie content. You cannot upload movies to 123 movies. There are tons of movies available in 123 movies, and I also found an IMDB review that helps me decide whether a film is worth watching or not.
No need to create an account on 123 movies. However, in this case, you will receive an email notifying you of a new release, etc. Even though I don’t have any viral issues the threat is always there as 123 movies have links to other websites.
6. Vumoo
Vumoo is another Primewire alternatives but it’s not so good when it comes to searching for what you want. Their database has a lot of movies listed but finding I found finding them quite a challenge. If you know the full name of the movie that you want then Vumoo is a good option as the search function works best by movie titles.
If you’re into TV shows, that’s great for you too. With Vumoo I can find all episodes of the show easily. Like other Primewire alternatives, Vumoo does not support movie content on its servers. He has links to websites such as Gorillavid, Videozed, and Movshare, which are known for stealing copyrighted content.
I have no problem with the virus Vumoo uses to access movie links, but there was one case where a website asked for my credit card information. Of course, I don’t provide that, and you don’t have to either. Vumoo is great for the number of movies it has.
7. SolarMovie
I haven’t used SolarMovie before but was quite impressed, so I have a list of great alternatives to Primewire. SolarMovie is very easy to use. All you have to do is click on the movie you want to watch and then you will be taken to a page where you can play it with one click. You don’t have to go through a lot of different connections.
One of the drawbacks of SolarMovie is that you can only watch most movies at 240p. I think the reason is to offer the fastest streaming. It doesn’t host content like most of the others. I don’t use any ads when using Solar Movie which is great.
So if you don’t mind watching 240p movies, you’ll love the speed and efficiency of SolarMovie. Finds movies to look for, but not as good as others.
8. Movie 4K
You may have heard of 2K Movies before. It was a popular movie streaming website that was shut down by the authorities. So, jump into 4K Movies to replace it and be another alternative to Primewire. Many former 2K Movie users have visited Movie 4K, and the website now receives over a million visitors every month.
I found 4K Movie to be a fairly simple website for streaming movies, with lots of categories and a decent search function. Once you see a movie you want to watch, you will find it in high quality. I was impressed that Movies had 4K movies available once in the movies.
Again, Movie 4K works with a connected connection so there is always a risk of popups, viruses and pages requiring your credit card information. I haven’t found any viruses, but that doesn’t mean the threat isn’t there.
9. SnagFilms
I was impressed by the number of genres SnagFilms has to offer, including crime, documentary, comedy, sports, thriller, family films and many more. Another good thing is how SnagFilms organizes your movie collection so you can watch similar movies if you want.
It has a built-in video player and most of the movies are in 720p or 1080p. I’ve tried the ad on SnagFilms, but it’s not bad. After all, they have to make a living. In fact, I have had some bug issues with SnagFilms, which are not great.
10. Afdah
I found Afda by chance and never heard of it. But I was impressed and added it to Primewire’s list of alternatives. Lots of movie content about Afdah and there are many popular TV shows. There are 27 categories and I find it quite easy to find good content in most of them.
I really like the search feature in Afdah. I can find movies by actor name and even director and title. You can find films based on their good language. Afdah even has a customer support feature which I haven’t tested but other users have said it’s great.
I’ve always felt safe with Afdah. I haven’t come across a lot of pop-ups and all the other crap that some other website has exposed me to. Streaming is fast and overall I think this is a very good alternative to Primewire.
What is the best Primewire Alternative?
If you want to access most of the content, I must say that Putlocker remains the best alternative to Primewire. To download your favorite movie I would recommend Yify.
I really like Afdah too. It has a lot of content and is well organized and in demand. I’ve found SolarMovie has the fastest streaming, but most of the movies are 240p which explains the speed.
