iPhone 13 release date

The iPhone 13 will be introduced on September 24, 2021, according to analyst Dan Ives.
Mr. Ives gave us definite dates earlier this year, stating that the iPhone 13 event will take place on September 14 and that the new iPhones will be released on September 24. The fact that Apple has an iPhone announcement event every year in September, with the revealed iPhone series usually commencing shipping roughly 10 days later, supports those dates.

The only recent exception was last year when unexpected obstacles arose in manufacturing and shipping, as well as other critical processes that companies must go through in order to market a product.
However, there are currently no signs that the iPhone 13 will be released later this year.

iPhone 13 price

We already know that Apple plans to increase iPhone production in India and shift roughly 20% of its iPhone production out of China, but we don’t know if this would result in lower iPhone costs in the future.

A rumored increase in the price of processors like the one used in the iPhone 13 could have a detrimental impact on its pricing (the 5nm Apple A15).
According to DigiTimes (citing unnamed sources), TSMC, a manufacturer of such CPUs for Apple and other companies, has raised its prices on sophisticated sub-7nm manufacturing technology, potentially raising the price of iPhones in 2021.

iPhone 13 name

It’s been suggested that Apple would label the upcoming iPhone “iPhone 12S” rather than “iPhone 13” because it will only have small improvements over its predecessor.
In some nations, the number 13 is considered unlucky, which could have influenced Apple’s naming method.

However, there is currently no leaked or official information to substantiate this assertion.
Indeed, on July 5th, a rumor claiming to be based on industry sources and supply chain checks said that Apple would use the name “iPhone 13.”
Furthermore, a photo purportedly showing “iPhone 13” packaging was just released, proving that the name will actually be iPhone 13 and not iPhone 12S.

iPhone 13 camera

The new iPhone’s ultra-wide-angle camera will be enhanced to f/1.8, 6P, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (six-element lens).
He also stated that the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max’s ultra-wide cameras will have autofocus.

Aside from a minor increase in size, we expect the camera module will remain largely the same as those of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11.
The zoom camera, as well as the main camera and the previously stated ultra-wide camera, are all likely to return.

The reports that Apple might acquire iPhone periscope zoom components from Samsung were confirmed by Korean media in December 2020.
However, the outcomes of this collaboration are expected to be revealed no later than the iPhone 14.

According to a rumor based on supply chain data published on January 9, 2021, iPhone 13 camera enhancements and an improved FaceID setup are on the way.
A “narrower” TrueDepth camera is reported to be part of the enhancements, which might entail a smaller notch above the 2018 iPhone’s display.

Apple may also include an astrophotography capability, which will allow users to picture the night sky, including stars and the moon, in crystal clear detail.

Leakers have also mentioned the addition of Portrait Mode video recording.
Users will reportedly be able to adjust the depth of field of an iPhone Portrait Mode movie after it has been recorded.
Depending on the user’s preference, the effect will blur either background or foreground objects.

According to some rumors, all iPhone 13 models will include a LiDAR scanner, while others claim that only the iPhone 13 Pro models will.
Furthermore, the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 small have been rumored to include larger camera bumps and sensors, which we may anticipate seeing on all of the next iPhone models.

iPhone 13 storage

On the subject of iPhone 13 storage, it’s been speculated that Apple would increase some models’ top storage capacity from 512GB to 1TB.
A later leak from supply chain sources said that 1TB iPhone 13 models would be shipped this fall with “greater confidence.”

iPhone 13 design

Changes to the iPhone design in 2021 compared to last year’s models:

The notch has shrunk by over 25%.

Camera module with a larger sensor

On the iPhone 13 and smaller variants, the camera is now diagonal.

All iPhone 13 variants are 0.26mm thicker than previous versions.

The iPhone 2021 series is expected to include a smaller, but still noticeable notch, as well as a flat appearance similar to previous year’s models.

In late March, a leak purporting to show iPhone 13 glass panels suggested that the notch on the iPhone 13 could be far lower, at least in breadth.
An April leak claiming to show iPhone 13 tiny CAD models also showed the phones with a smaller notch and alternative positioning of their back cameras, supporting this theory.

iPhone 13 display

The displays for the iPhone Pro and Pro Max variants are rumored to come from none other than Samsung.
According to UBI Research, Samsung’s 120Hz LTPO screens for the iPhone 13 were expected to go into production in late March 2021.

Samsung was believed to be starting production of the iPhone 13 Pro’s 120Hz display in late May.
Only the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will have ProMotion screens.
LG will be the one to supply Apple with less pricey 60Hz panels for the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13.

According to early iPhone 2021 speculations, we may expect the new iPhones to be fairly similar to the iPhone 12 series in terms of display size.
Due to reduced bezels and a smaller notch, options include the same display sizes or slightly larger ones.
This suggests that, at the absolute least, the following iPhone display sizes can be expected in 2021:

5.4-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels on the iPhone 13 mini (476 PPI, 60Hz)

iPhone 13 — 6.1-inch display with 1170 x 2532 pixel resolution (460 PPI, 60Hz)

iPhone 13 Pro — 6.1-inch display with 1170 x 2532 pixel resolution (460 PPI, 120Hz, OLED)

6.7-inch display with a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels on the iPhone 13 Pro Max (458 PPI, 120Hz, OLED)

iPhone 13 battery

Apple has freed up more physical space inside the new iPhones, according to trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, allowing the iPhone 13 series to have larger batteries.
Furthermore, the A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 13 may be more energy-efficient than the A14 in the iPhone 12, resulting in improved battery life.

According to the most recent leaks, iPhone battery sizes in 2021 will be:

2,406 mAh iPhone 13 mini

3,095 mAh iPhone 13

3,095 mAh iPhone 13 Pro

4,352 mAh iPhone 13 Pro Max

These are the battery sizes of last year’s iPhone 12 models for comparison:

2,227 mAh iPhone 12 mini

2,815 mAh iPhone 12

2,815 mAh iPhone 12 Pro

3,687 mAh iPhone 12 Pro Max

According to a MyDrivers report from late July, the iPhone 13 series could feature 25W fast charging, implying that it would be released alongside a new 25W power adaptor, which will be sold separately.
When Apple comes to power adapters, the new iPhones will come with only a charging wire, not a charger (Lightning to USB Type-C).

iPhone 13 features and software

It’s almost guaranteed that the iPhone 13 will support 5G.
According to reports, Apple is working with five distinct antenna component manufacturers for the iPhone 2021 series, up from four last year.

Internally, the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which went into production in May, will power the iPhones of 2021.

In the guise of under-screen Touch ID, fingerprint unlock is expected to reappear on some iPhone 14 models.
Touch ID was rumored to be tested on the iPhone 13 as well but was apparently postponed until next year.
Face ID will most likely be the lone feature on the forthcoming iPhones in 2021, as it was on last year’s models.

The iPhone 13 may get reverse wireless charging and a bigger wireless coil, allowing for more wireless charging power.
On July 4th, Filip Koroy and leaker Max Weinbach made those claims.

In terms of software, the iPhone 13 will run iOS 15, which, like many prior iOS releases, will be available to all eligible iPhones this fall, likely in September.
FaceTime upgrades, Focus modes, Live Text, a Safari revamp, and other innovations are among the highlights of iOS 15, which you can see in our iOS 15 preview.

Should I wait for iPhone 13?

Do you want to know if the iPhone 13 is worth it?
Let’s see if you should wait for the 2021 iPhones or stick with a model from the previous year.

The following are the benefits of upgrading to the iPhone 13:

OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion (on the Pro and Pro Max)

Battery life is improved, and storage possibilities are expanded.

Features of the new camera

If you want to see what the iPhone 13 has to offer above the previous model, you should wait.
Better cameras with wide-angle autofocus, a lot smoother 120Hz ProMotion display, and increased battery life are just a few of the highlights.
If all of this sounds appealing, the iPhone 13 series is well worth upgrading to.

Larger storage versions, apparently up to 1TB, will be available on the next iPhone 13 series (1,000 gigabytes).
As a result, if you’re constantly clearing storage on your iPhone, upgrading to the iPhone 13 and taking advantage of its increased storage space would be well worth it.

If nothing we’ve said so far has piqued your interest, you shouldn’t wait for the iPhone 13.
Because the iPhone 13 series isn’t a significant increase over its predecessors, sticking with a 12 model for another year is completely acceptable.
We predict significant upgrades for next year’s iPhone 14, so you might want to keep your current iPhone for another year and upgrade just when Apple introduces something new that you’re interested in.
In addition, here’s why you should think twice about getting an iPhone 12 if you have an earlier iPhone.

iPhone 13: What about the iPhone 14 in 2022?

When purchasing a technological item, you must weigh your immediate need or want against the chance of something newer and better in the future.
This is true with phones, with some people experiencing FOMO (fear of missing out) when it comes to purchasing smartphones.
You can play the waiting game for as long as you want, but you’ll never truly win.

Although the iPhone 14 is still a ways off, we’ve already heard some intriguing speculations.
The restoration of Touch ID is one of them, especially now that hopes for its comeback on the iPhone 13 have been shattered.

According to other speculations, the A16 Bionic chip will be made using a 4nm technology, which will increase power efficiency and overall performance.
To make those judgments, though, we’ll need to observe the chip in operation.

We’ve also heard rumors of probable iPhone 14 camera upgrades, such as enhanced ultrawide components for all iPhone 14 models.
According to another report, the iPhone 14 will have a folding telephoto lens.
This would allow for greater magnification without expanding the camera’s or phone’s physical size.
