To solve Error codes 0X80073BC3 or 0X80073B92-0X20009 on Windows 10, try out the following suggestions –

1. Remove the older device

The best way to avoid problems with Windows Defender is to physically remove the old device. If you can’t remove the previous system device, you can try the following solutions.

2. Disconnect the earlier system drive

Currently, you can easily disable any system devices if you are unable to temporarily erase them. Almost all firmware such as BIOS or UEFI allows system devices to be turned off when not in use.

To do this, restart your device. When your computer restarts, press the appropriate function key to enter BIOS or UEFI mode. Use the keyboard to access the hardware area and disable older devices. Restart your computer after turning off the relevant hardware. Since the conflicting device is deprecated, no errors will appear when using Microsoft Defender.

3. Delete the older System device

If the error 0X80073BC3 or 0X80073B92-0X20009 persists even after you turn off the secondary device, you can undelete the older device. Use a hard drive partition for this.

Press WinKey + S to open a search window.
Enter “Disk Management” and double click Create and Format Disk Partitions.
Right-click on the old system device and select the format option.
Wait for the computer to erase everything on the device.
Once done, right-click again and create a new device (not system).

Following this method will free up unnecessary space on the secondary device. Finally, make sure to restart your computer so that the changes take effect the next time you log in.
