3 Ways to Download Twitter Videos on iPhone

Twitter is the source of the hottest news, both in written and in video format. The demand for video content is increasing and more and more companies and individuals are creating videos for microblogging platforms.
The number of videos shared on the microblogging platform is increasing day by day. It’s natural to find a great video on your iPhone show and want to download it, but here’s where you scratch your head.

Apple makes it nearly impossible to download Twitter videos to iPhone. Much of this has to do with security. While there isn’t an easy way to download Twitter videos to your iPhone, there are a few other solutions for your camera that will still work.

Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to go to jail. Jailbreaking can be risky and you will lose the warranty on your iPhone. This method is safe and requires a few additional steps to implement.

1. Twitter Video Downloader

A simple little website with a clean and tidy interface should do one thing: You can download videos on Twitter on your iPhone. Open the default Twitter app and find the video you want to download. When you find it, click the Share button (button with up arrow) and select the Share Tweet Via option.

Now you will see different options for sharing videos. Copy Link must be one of them. This will copy the direct link of the video to the clipboard where you can place it anywhere.

Open the Safari browser. It doesn’t work in other browsers. Visit the Twitter Video Downloader website. Under all the annoying ads on the home page, you will see an option to paste the URL with the download button. Long press to paste the URL and hit Download.

Then scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Download Video link. Choose a resolution and click the Download Video button. When you click the button, the video will play in full-screen mode.

Click the Share button again and select Add to Home Screen. You will be asked to enter a name for the video. When done, click Save. The shortcut icon to the video will now be displayed on the home screen.

It’s as far as Apple lets you go, and even though it’s not a download, it’s still something. We will then see how we can change these options for downloading and saving videos in the Photos app.

2. MyMedia

Instead of adding videos to your home screen, you can download them using a file management app. My media is a file management application for iPhone that allows you to manage files on your device. We all know how different file management is on iOS compared to Android, which is much easier to use in that respect.

MyMedia wants to add a similar feature to your iPhone. Download and install from the App Store. Go back to Twitter and copy the link to the video as in the previous step.

Now open the “My Media” application and select the first option, which is the browser.

Open another web site Video Downloader Twitter, paste the URL, and click the Download button.

This time, if you choose the format and click the download button on the next page, a pop-up will appear asking you to download or open the file. You know what to do here. If you select Download, you will be asked to name the file. Once done, you will see the video in the download area.

After the video has been downloaded, you can always watch it from the Media tab. All videos you download will be saved here. Make sure to name it appropriately.
But we’re not done yet. Even if you’ve downloaded the video, it’s still in the MyMedia app, not the camera. To do this, return to the MyMedia app and press and hold the video for more options. Here, select Save to Camera Roll.

You will be asked to confirm your decision to allow MyMedia to add it to your photo.

Open the Photos app and you will find the downloaded videos there in the resolution you originally selected on MyMedia. The app is free to use and download and contains minimal ads that are completely unobtrusive.

3. Documents by Readdle

Documents by Readdle is a popular app for reading PDFs and other iPhone file types. Many users use it to annotate documents, sync them in the cloud, and use it as a file manager. What they don’t know is that it can also be used to download videos on their iPhone on Twitter.

Copy the Twitter link as you did in the first step and open the document. Once you are logged in, click the compass button at the bottom right corner of the screen to enter the browser.

Open TWDown, enter the Twitter link you copied earlier, and hit the Download button.

You will now see download links with different resolutions. Click the one you want. I chose 720×720. When you click Download, you will be prompted under Document to rename the file and choose a download location. When done, the Twitter video will download to your iPhone.

To save videos to your camera, open the Documents folder in the same app, and click the menu to display the sharing options.

Click on the Share button and save it to the Photos app.
